New Advanced Photography Course/ 2023 Recap

Phil and I have launched a new course in Advanced Photography as the year has come to a close.

2023 has been a big one for me. It started off with me training for a charity boxing match and twirled from there. Since March, my video making took a dive and my blog writing has varied in waves, along with the grasp of my creativity and motivation to do ART. But my photography reminds me of consistently culminating in this new course.

In the meantime, check out a quick recap video of the last season of work from me.

Phil had put out his own advanced photography class. He had the great idea that students would want to hear from all three of your Photo and Friends teachers. Sam is working on his at the moment, and I can't wait to take it. Each course will focus on how we as individuals advance our own photography.

My favorite thing about this course is diving into my personal views on how I push my own creativity and the art/ techniques of photography. While it's totally lecture-based, we have never been this specific about the different genres of photography we all do.

In the class, I use all my own photos to teach. I've been taking photos with creative and artistic intent for about 23 years and have been getting paid to do it for 20 years. You can imagine my library of images feels almost infinite (when I can find what I am looking for). Throughout those years I’ve done a lot, in this course, I lecture a bit on each style I have experience with.

19 mins on - Headshot photography

11 mins on - Family Portraits

11 mins on - Creative Portrait Photography

10 mins on - Street Photography

7 mins on - Travel Photography

13 mins on - Landscape Photography

19 mins on - Wedding Photography (I also have an entire course on this HERE)

17 mins on - Concert and Music Photography

12 mins on - Night and Astrophotography

I also run through the gear that has pushed me creatively and small things you can do to improve your photography immediately.

Throw back to working with these two.

At this point, Phil, Sam, and I have had over 1 million courses sold in the last 8 years. While there are always new students finding us, we need to keep growing at all levels of photography. I love it when I hear that people all over the world have used our classes as springboards to launch their own full-time photography careers. Or that learning photography has saved their creative soul.

I am hoping to build more and more advanced type courses. I'd love to do an advanced editing class and maybe even an advanced photography course on FILM.

In the meantime, heres to 2024. May all our creative ambitions and positive attitudes to a new year, a new beginning, and trusting in yourself pan out. Tomorrow is always the first day of the rest of your life, "seize the carp."
